Wow! Food was absolutely amazing! Every single thing I ordered I would get again and again and again. If I lived out in the Bay Area I would making trips here multiple times during the week. I've been wanting to try them out for a long time now and I finally was able to this past Sunday. I live in SoCal so when I made a trip up there I made it point to get there. After flying into Sacramento for work, I drove to Oakland (literally once the plane landed I got my rental and went straight there). This is what I ordered: Lobstir Puff - hella good! Fluffy Pancakes - hella good! Soft Cornbread - hella good! Oxtails- hella good! Tailgate Plate Banana Blossom Fried Phish GF - hella good! Natures CoolAide Organic Cane Sugar - hella good! Trust me when I say this you will not be disappointed. And yes the owners are amazing individuals as well. I appreciate you both. I will be back.

Had a nice dinner this evening at Hella Nuts and as always the food was absolutely delicious. We tried several new dishes that includes various soups, chocolate cake, and an artichoke appetizer (shown here). OMG, is all I can say!

Hella good. So much props to the two ladies running the whole show. And I should share that their stress was definitely shown and felt. Their work model doesn't seem sustainable, but they are rocking the meat! Al Pastor tacos were hella good and crispy. Like wow. I'm Mexican and love me some al pastor. It could be spicier, or have some spicy salsa. The consomé it came with tasted like it came from chile de árbol or a mix with Chile Guajillo, so it had an authentic taste. Definitely watery since it doesn't have the fat from the animal meat. Good, not great, maybe could use nut milk to get a thicker consistency. Can't wait to try their walnut meat, they were sold out when I ordered for dinner. My friend got the enchiladas, it was cool. Love me some cooked carrots. Didn't try the salad or beans. The tortilla was too hard to eat with plastic fork (ni knife) so my friend broke her fork 3 times before they gave her a spoon as well. If they are gonna charge for utensils, they should probably include knives and be good quality is my feedback.

Hella Nuts was on my list for the longest time but it was hard to eat there because they opened late. I was so excited to finally try them and everything was DELICIOUS. The first bite we took of the banana blossom we looked at each other because we were so perplexed as to what was happening. It was deliciously crispy, not greasy, super well flavored and the texture was amazing. We gobbled everything right up! They had a little mishap with my dessert order but it didn't matter! The creme brulee still tasted amazing, as did the golden milk. They've also expanded their hours, so I would definitely give them a try. They often change their menus depending on what produce they have, there's always so much variety!
